Local Leagues’ members are invited to participate in the new League of Women
Voters of Nevada Legislative Committee. The committee will focus on working year-round on political issues that impact the quality
of life in our communities. We want to monitor legislative activity as we prepare for the 2009 Legislative Session. We also hope to
network and work with elected officials and like-minded organizations in developing grassroots projects while the legislature is out
of session, given that legislative activity does not cease between sessions. As a group, the Nevada League meets year-round. The mission
of the Legislative Committee will include energizing and focusing efforts and projects with a resonant consistent voice. As we meet,
discuss and research, our committee will develop our legislative agenda so as to better prepare for the 2009 Legislative session. The
committee will initiate networking and communicate with candidates and elected officials to understand their platform as it relates
to League positions.
