Chair: Sam King

The League supports adequate and equitable funding for all levels of public education. The League of Women Voters, in its national, state and local efforts, is committed to continuing efforts to establish excellence in all our children’s schools. Any attempt to change the NRS regarding education must keep these priorities in mind: constitutionality, fiscal, equal access, transparency and accountability.

The committee typically meets prior to League meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

Some issues the committee will consider to pursue include the following:

>   No Child Left Behind
>   Funding to the national level
Recruitment and retention of quality teachers
  Full day kindergarten
>   Breaking up the Clark County school district
