Every national League position is based on nationwide study and consensus among members. In the consensus process, members draw on balanced pro/con materials. Once a position is reached, the League marshals all of its tools to influence the shape of public policy.
|
Grassroots lobbying efforts are key to League legislative success. Strategies include testimony, letters and telephone calls to key legislators, working in coalition with other groups, community outreach and media campaigns.Chartered in 1964, The League of Women Voters of Las Vegas Valley presents community forums and monthly programs on important issues, featuring experts in the field. We conduct elections for community organizations, organize and work voter registration events and publish committee research/study reports and a nonpartisan Clark County Voter Guide.
